For Sofia Mendes, bgreen coordinator, this type of activity aims to educate youngsters through active pedagogy. \u201cWe know that meaningful learning takes place more with experimentation than with textbooks. This workshop rests on such assumption in order to educate young people in an environmental culture characterized by responsibility and awareness regarding our Common Home\u201d.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-2788\" src=\"http:\/\/www.bgreenfestival.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/bgreen-workshop-projeto-social-criancas-projet-mimar-2.jpg\" width=\"670\" height=\"446\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The initiative also included a number of visits to <em>Col\u00e9gio das Caldinhas\u2019<\/em> museums, Thermal Spa and surrounding woods.<\/p>\n<p>Program MIMAR was conceived and implemented by the municipality of Santo Tirso to meet the needs of parents and guardians in terms of their children\u2019s monitoring and education in periods of school breaks, by playing a dual role: social and educational.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>More than one hundred children from Program MIMAR participated in the seed balls and mini-garden creation workshops promoted by bgreen\u2019s social project.
