The ceremony was held in the lovely Cultural Nave of the F\u00e1brica de Santo Thyrso on June 6 with the valuable collaboration of the municipality of Santo Tirso.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>This initiative marked the conclusion of a project that took several months in the making. Its general aim was to call young people\u2019s attention to the respect we all should have for Mother Nature, making them aware of the importance of responsible environmental practices.<\/p>\n<p>This year\u2019s edition was, once again, characterized by the project\u2019s international reach, clearly visible via the participation of students from European countries such as Spain, France, Norway, Germany, Italy, Belgium and Croatia.<\/p>\n<p>Throughout the ceremony, 42 preselected video spots were presented. These spots were competing for the following categories: bgreen \/\/ ecological film festival grand prize, honorable mention, best message, best making-of, people\u2019s choice and Alphonse Luisier award.<\/p>\n<p>The event was attended by students and teachers from several participating schools as well as representatives of the project\u2019s official partners: BES, Quercus, the Regional Government of the Azores, The Portuguese Environment Agency and the municipalities of Santo Tirso and Vila nova de Famalic\u00e3o.<\/p>\n<p>The ceremony also featured two musical appearances of the Portuguese band \u201cCabaret Fortuna\u201d, a familiar presence in the school\u2019s festivities that liven up the audience with their energy and good music.<\/p>\n<p>The official website of the festival broadcast the whole ceremony live for all those who couldn\u2019t attend the event in loco.<\/p>\n<p>The bgreen \/\/ ecological film festival grand prize was awarded, for the second year in a row, to a Norwegian school with the spot \u201cGlobal Warning\u201d, produced by a group of students from Ole Vig Videreg\u00e5ende Skole and was handed to the winners by the Mayor of Santo Tirso, Joaquim Couto.<\/p>\n<p>The lucky winners will have the opportunity to enjoy an <span style=\"text-decoration: underline; color: #008000;\"><strong><a title=\"Grand Prize bgreen \/\/ ecological film festival award\" href=\"http:\/\/www.bgreenfestival.com\/en\/grand-prize\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"color: #008000; text-decoration: underline;\">EcoAdventure trip<\/span><\/a><\/strong><\/span> to the idyllic island of S.
